What do I do if…

From the Madison County Health Department:
Currently our County Health Department is doing everything they can to reach out to every new and active case of COVID-19 within the same day. Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming increase in numbers, there is a delay in contacting individuals. Please be patient with us as we are doing everything in our power to keep up.

NYS Contract Tracers are assisting in contacting individuals who have been in close contact with a positive COVD-19 case. These contract tracers are calling from all across New York State, so we ask that you answer numbers you do not know. Please know that we are working as hard as we can to get in contact with everyone.

If you do test positive or know you were in close contact with an individual who tested positive, please review this document:  https://www.madisoncounty.ny.gov/…/Positive-and-Close-Conta…

If you do test positive for COVID-19, we ask that you please self-isolate and contact those who you were in contact with at least 48 hours prior to your test date and notify them that they should quarantine. Also, notify your employer that you tested positive for COVID-19 and that you need to isolate. If you need a doctor’s note immediately, contact your physician. Otherwise, the Madison County Health Department will provide you with isolation orders; it just may take a few days.

For guidance on self-isolation, please review https://www.madisoncounty.ny.gov/2…/Quarantine-and-Isolation

In the meantime, we urge everyone to continue to do their part to limit the spread. Remember the 3 W’s: Wear a facemask, Watch your distancing, and Wash your hands.
