Our summer reading program, “Dream Big: Read! is over!  We had 45 kids graduate from our program this year!  34 of them read over the required 10 hour limit!  WOW!  The graduates are: Indigo and Silas Bemont, Kayden Chamberlin, Jayden and Jeslyn Church, Esther, Hannah, Levi and Noah Claxton, James and Lincoln Dapson, Jennifer and Toby Forward, Alejandro Fuentes-Lamb, Darren and Kirsten Grabow, Ariana Hilliard, Xenia Kirby, Shawna and Taylor Manwarren, Kirston and Landon Markowski, Joah and Olivia McCoy, Lyla O’Hara, Jeanna and Paul Pittman, Ryan Selinsky, Benjamin and Ian Smith, Jesse Smith, Molly-Anne Smith, Avery and Owen Snyder, Allison, Lindsay and MacKenzie Sternburg, Paislee Stevens, Calixto and Nick Suarez, Andrew and Theresa Vedder, Bailey Woodruff, Darren and Eric Zheng.  They read a total of 1037 hours!  Congratulations!

Join us for our Family Movie Night this Friday August 31 at 6:00pm.  We will be showing the movie, The Lorax.  Bring the family in for a sure to be new favorite!  We will provide the refreshments!

Bring the family for popcorn and a movie on Friday September 7 at 6:00pm.  We will be showing the hysterical family film, The Pirates: Band of Misfits!

We are starting a writing group at the library for adults!  Get your creative juices flowing and join this fun group!  Their first meeting will be Saturday September 8 at 1pm.  Call Josie Howlett at 893-7032 or Cathy Nagle at 527-1627 for more information.

Tai Chi Chuan is coming to the library starting Monday September 10 at 6:30pm.  Come learn with instructor Bill Snyder.  Open to all teens and adults.

Come celebrate National Play Doh day with us on Friday September 14 at 6:30pm.  Not only will we learn how to make no-cook play doh, but everyone will get to make some to take home!

We need oatmeal containers so if you have any, please drop them off to the library at your earliest convenience!  We appreciate the help!

We will be closed on Monday September 3 to observe Labor Day.  We will reopen on Tuesday September 4 at 10am.

We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Our summer reading program, “Dream Big: Read! is over!  Next week I will list all the graduates and prize winners.  Thank you to all who participated in our adult and child’s programs.  We had a great summer with all of you!

Join us for our Family Movie Night on Friday August 31 at 6:00pm.  We will be showing the movie, The Lorax.  Bring the family in for a sure to be new favorite!  We will provide the refreshments!

Our summer reading program, “Dream Big: Read! is almost over.  Be sure to keep reading!  Kids must read at least 10 hours before this Saturday August 18 to be invited to our summer reading graduation!  Adults- just read and turn in your book reviews for a chance to win a gift basket!

Join us for Things that go bump in the night at 6:30pm on Wednesday August 15.  Come read lots of silly books about monsters.  If you could create a monster would it have 3 eyes?  Horns?  How about 5 slimy legs?  Show us how creative you can be as we design our very own monsters!

This Friday August 17 at 6:30pm we will be having fun with Creatures of the Night!  Come learn about animals that only come out to play at night!  We’ll make masks and puppets, as well as a matching game for you to take home and play.

If you read at least ten (10) hours during our summer reading program you are invited to our Graduation Party on Wednesday August 22 at 6:30pm.  Prizes, t-shirts, certificates and ice cream sundaes!

The Friends will be having their annual meeting on Tuesday August 21 at 7pm.  The public is welcome to attend.

This Friday August 10 at 8pm to 8am Saturday is our Teen Lock In at the Library!  Stay up all night if you are a teen (13 and over) and watch movies, eat pizza, play the Wii, tell spooky stories and best of all, walk down to the cemetery after dark for a scavenger hunt!  You must fill out a permission slip by Monday August 6 if you wish to attend or bring a parent or guardian the night of the lock in to do it then!

We are also looking for donations of food and drinks for the lock in.  If you are interested, please inquire at the circulation desk.

Our summer reading program, “Dream Big: Read! is in full swing!  Be sure to keep reading!  Kids must read at least 10 hours before Saturday August 18 to be invited to our summer reading graduation!  Adults- just read and turn in your book reviews for a chance to win a gift basket!

Hey kids, have you been working on your mystery photo contest this year?  Have you been solving our minute mystery challenges each week?  If not, be sure to do so for a chance to win some great prizes at the end of summer reading!

We are having a Pajama Party this Friday August 3 at 6:30pm.  Wear your favorite PJ’s and come join the fun!

Wednesday August 8 at 6:30pm we will be having fun with the Moon and Stars!  Dreams happen at night, when the moon and stars come out.  We’ll learn about the night sky, make constellation projectors and design our own rockets!
