December 23, 2009

We will be closing at 4pm this Thursday December 24 and will be closed until Monday January 4 2010 at noon to observe the winter holidays.  Be sure to stock up on plenty of books to read over the break!

Beginning January 4, 2010, we will be open more!  Tuesdays and Thursdays we will be open from 10am to 8pm!

After the holidays we will be celebrating Elvis’ Birthday on Friday January 8 at 6:30pm.  Come see Elvis impersonator, Wayne Curtis, hear some of his songs and learn about Presley’s life!

Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, meets again on Tuesday January 12 at 9:30am.  They will be hearing stories on “Sleepy Time”!  If you can’t make that day join them Tuesday January 26 for “Let it Snow!”

To start the New Year off right, we will have a Caldecott series for kids ages 7-14 that will meet every month to read and have fun with the Caldecott winners!  The first book will be The House in the Night by Susan Marie Swanson.  Join us on Wednesday January 13 at 6:30pm as we have fun with this book!

And what a way to start the New Year than with a Craft-a-palooza night on Friday January 15 at 6:30pm!  Join us as we make some zany crafts and have lots of fun!

The Library would like to wish you all a happy and safe holiday season and we will see you in 2010!

This Friday December 18 at 6:30pm, join us for a Holiday Scavenger Hunt!  Find lots of things around the library and then assemble them to find out what they are!  Refreshments will be provided.

Saturday December 19 at 10:30am, we are having a gift making program!  Drop the kids off to make a gift for mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt or uncle!

We are collecting for Madison County Foster Kids now until this Friday December 11.  Donate new, unwrapped items like toys, games, art supplies, books, toothbrushes, etc.  See the complete list at the library.  Help make the holidays a little brighter for our area foster children!

The Friends Annual Silent Auction ends this Friday December 11 at 8pm!  Stop in and bid now.

Join us for our Annual Open House on Friday December 11 from 5-8pm.  Join the Friends and staff members for some tasty goodies and see the Dr. Seuss Christmas Tree!

Join us on Wednesday December 16 at 12pm for our next book talk, The Drowned Maiden’s Hair by Laura Amy Schlitz.  Copies can be picked up now.  Bring your lunch and join in this discussion!
