Morrisville Public Library News

If you haven’t heard the library reverted back to NO CONTACT PICKUP starting January 11, 2021. With the rising cases of COVID-19 in our area, we have decided to limit in library use until further notice. But we re-evaluated, listened to your requests and researched how other libraries were doing things, so our pickup service is easier this time around! You can either call us at 315-684-9130 and ask for help getting some materials (we can read you items off our shelves, we are okay with that), email us at morrisville@midyork.org, complete our much easier google form from our website or place holds in the web catalog and we call you when they are ready! Any orders placed by these means will not be ready for at least two hours after request (unless we are closed and then it will be two hours from when we open next.)
After your pick up day has been confirmed by a library staff member, (no more appointment times just show up on the day you asked for) wear your face covering and come into the main entry and get your bag of items from the table. Return any you have to come back in the bin there as well! Any items left after 6:30pm each day will be returned to the shelves unless an arrangement has been made by the patron before then.
Our new materials are on our website (https://morrisvillepubliclibrary.org/services/new-materials/) if you need ideas of what to read and we can always help you too!
If you need our other services like copies, faxes, landfill punch cards and the notary public, let us know and we can make arrangements. Our kids take and make crafts are in the main entry so don’t forget to get yours if you haven’t today.
The inside door to the main library will be locked out of safety to the staff and staff are not allowed to open it for anyone.
We will not accept Facebook, Instagram or Next Door private messages as “orders” for materials. We are not on our social media accounts regularly so it could be days before we see these messages. Please use the 4 means of contact above for faster service.
I know that we are not “open” but please do not come to the library if you have COVID symptoms or have been or possibly been exposed, even for no contact pickup. Remember we are overdue fine free and would rather you kept the materials longer than coming out to return them on time!
We know that this is not ideal as we are definitely a “browsing” community but we need to make sure our staff and patrons stay safe and slow the spread of COVID-19. Once the cases decline and stay much lower, we will reopen again for grab-n-go. We miss you as much as you miss being in the library. Stay safe and strong, we have to be on the upswing now.
