The library is closed for an extended period during the holiday season in anticipation of COVID-19 safety measures related to public health and local transmissions.  The library is closed until Monday January 4, 2021.  Please follow our website, social media or answering machine for how we plan to reopen in January.  It is highly probable that we will have to revert back to no contact pick up appointments due to the COVID-19 transmission during the holiday season.  Fingers crossed that we do not have to.

So what will happen if our cases keep getting higher in the area? First off, we are not planning to change our hours of M-F 12-7pm unless we are informed by a higher authority that we have to or have a positive case on site.  If we have to revert to no contact pickup, we will not be able to have anyone in the building, meaning no patrons in the building except in the entry to pick up books.  The door to the main building will be locked for the safety of the staff.  Patrons will not be allowed to knock on the door as the staff cannot respond. Patrons need to contact staff by phone or email only.

Please stay safe and however we “reopen” in January, please do not come to the library if you have COVID symptoms or have been or possibly been exposed, even for no contact pickup.

Be sure to stop and get your take-n-make snowman craft and/or a fuzzy snow poster for your children starting January 4, 2021!  And, adults and kids, get your own, “Do Good January” bingo board and help spread generosity in the New Year!  Complete a row and get a snowflake with your name on it posted at the desk!  Complete the whole board and receive a ticket good for one year of our book sales to get a FREE BOOK!  All BINGO boards are due back to the library by February 5, 2021.

We wish you a safe and wonderful holiday season!

December 9, 2020

The Morrisville Public Library is open for Grab-n- Go (no appointments needed)!  Our new regular hours are Monday through Friday 12pm-7pm!  12pm-1pm every day is reserved for our high-risk patrons only!  More hours means more times for you to be able to get the materials you desire!  Please make it quick though and don’t forget your face covering and use our hand sanitizer when entering the building!

We are asking all patrons that if you are not feeling well or have COVID-19 symptoms to please not come to the library.  Remember we are fine free so you will not be charged late fees if your materials are a little late.  We all want to stay safe and stay open and collectively we can do it!  We cannot wait to see all your smiling eyes again!!

If you haven’t checked out our virtual program, Classics with Chelle, you should today!  Every Wednesday at 6:30pm I read a book through Facebook Live.  It takes several weeks to get through a book but it’s a lot of fun!  The book we are currently reading is, The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck.  January will be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with fun things to do throughout!

Thursday December 24 at 10am I will be reading on Facebook Live some of my favorite classic children’s Christmas stories! (The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore, The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, Dream Snow by Eric Carle and Night Tree by Eve Bunting.)  Tune in to get into the holiday spirit!

PLEASE NOTE:  Notice from the Morrisville Public Library Board of Trustees: The library will be closed for an extended period during the holiday season in anticipation of Covid-19 safety measures related to public health and local transmissions.  The library will be closing the evening of December 16 and will remain closed until the new year.  We encourage you to plan ahead and to allow us to help you make your selections to get you through the holidays.  We will resume operations on January 4, 2021 and we look forward to seeing you then!  Please make sure to stop in and get the materials you need over this extended closure!
