Summer Reading begins Monday July 1 so be sure to stop in and sign up then!  “Universe of Stories” is the theme this year!  We have LOTS of fun programs and performers planned!  Check out our website for all the details at: https://morrisvillepubliclibrary.org/events/summer-reading-2019/.  If the kids read 1100 hours collectively, they get to COLOR the Library Manager at graduation!

Help us create the Summer Reading mosaic mural for the summer on Monday July 1 at 6:30pm! Come join us as we try to complete at 40″x36″ mosaic picture for our summer reading program!  All ages are welcome!

Bring your preschool child (ages 2-5) for our summer time story hour starting Tuesday July 2 at 10am!  We will be reading stories about “Take Me to Your Reader!”  Make a craft, hear some stories and more!  (If you cannot make that day, join us July 9 for “Shoot for the Moon!”)

Be sure to join us for our Monday Out of this World Space Matinees! Come join us for some “space-y” movie on Monday July 8 at 2:00pm!  !  We provide the popcorn; bring your own beverage!  Due to licensing regulations we cannot post titles, but check out our website for the complete list this summer! 

On Wednesday July 10 Jim Okey, the Magician will be here at 6:30pm!  Come see Jim Okey as he will razzle and dazzle you with his interactive magical tricks!  Fun for the entire family!

On Friday July 12 at 6:30pm, please join us for Aliens, Underpants & Other Unusual Things!  Come make a pool noodle light saber, play freeze undies, play a giant space invader game and more! 

Join us on Wednesday July 17 at 7:00pm for Astronomy for Everyone: Size & Scale of the Universe! This is an exciting family program for ages 8 to 100+ about the universe from the very small to the very large!  Following the presentation, we will all go outdoors to view the rings of Saturn, craters on the Moon, etc. through a powerful handcrafted telescope, weather permitting.

We will be closed Thursday-Saturday July 4-6 in observance of Independence Day.  We will reopen Monday July 8 at 12pm!

We started our summer hours so we will be closed Saturdays through Labor Day.  We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday closed.

Join us this Friday for our last NERF Battle Night until fall!  Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts too–please label them) and join us for open play around the library on Friday June 14 from 8:30pm-11:00pm!  See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from being hit by a friend’s foam dart! Open to ages 7 and up; so adults are welcome too! Everyone must bring a snack and a drink. ONLY 14 spaces are available!! ALL participants MUST sign up in the library and get a permission slip to return completed the night of. We will not allow people to complete permission slips at the door.

Looking for a good book to read?  How about joining our book talk on Wednesday June 19 at 6:30pm, as we will be reading, The Water Cure by Sophie Mackintosh. Copies can be picked up now!  So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!

Come join us on Friday June 21 at 6:30pm for our Wine and Paint Night! Open to adults and kids 13 and older!  If you don’t drink wine we will have grape juice and of course, goodies for everyone too!  Cost is $35 per person (payable the night of the program).  Reservations are required!  We MUST have 10 people to hold the class!  We can have no more than 28 so space is limited!  Sign up now at the circulation desk!

On Monday June 24 at 6:30pm join us for our last historic talk until fall.  The topic: Things You Might Not Know about Morrisville. Sue Greenhagen, Town and Village Historian, will be presenting a talk on things you might not know about Morrisville!  Come learn some interesting tidbits about our village!

Be sure to join us on Wednesday June 26 for Summer Reading Cards & Treats at 6:30pm!  Come make 3 of either Summer Reading cards or sweet treat holders too!  Cost is $5 per set of 3 activities (payable the night of the program).  Jackie Groves of Librarystampers Creations will demonstrate how to use stamps and other tools to create these unique items!  This is open to ages 12 and up (but if someone younger wants to participate; a parent/guardian must come too!)  We must have 5 people signed up to have this event so please sign up now at the circulation desk!
