We are closed now until January 1, 2020.  When we reopen we will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Celebrate your last day off from school with a Library Luau on Friday January 3 at 2:00pm!! Come and party up with us in the cold of winter before school starts again! Games, food and more!

Join us for Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, on Tuesday January 7 at 10:00am!  Help us have fun as we read about Mittens!  Stories, finger plays a craft and more!  There will be no story hours December 24 and December 31.  Join us the January 14 for “Let’s Be Silly” and January 21 for “Elephant Walk”!

On Friday January 10 at 7:00pm join us for our Teen/Adult Movie Night at 7:00pm!  We provide the popcorn so bring the family and your own beverage!  Want to know what we are showing?  You will surely not want to miss this movie!  Contact the library or check out this link for more details: https://morrisvillepubliclibrary.org/events/movie-nights-the-library/.   We are also having a Family Movie Night Friday January 24 at 7:00pm too!

On Monday January 13 Learn to Crochet with us at 6:30pm!  Always wanted to learn how to make those cute afghans? Need a refresher? Come join Tanya DeCock as she teaches us how to crochet. All participants MUST bring a skein of yarn and a G or H crochet hook. We will start by learning a scarf and go from there!

Friday January 17 will be our next NERF Battle Night from 8:30pm-11:00pm!  Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts too–please label them) and join us for open play around the library! See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from getting hit by a friend’s foam dart! Open to ages 7 and up; so adults are welcome too! Everyone must bring a snack and drink. We only have 14 spaces so sign up starting January 2!

Tuesday January 21 will be Snowmageddon for Homeschoolers at 1:30pm!  Come and learn how to make snow cream (ice cream with snow), origami snowflakes, icicles with chemistry, make a Rice Krispy treat snowman and more! Dress for going outside too as we will make snow creatures and paint them too! (And we heard there may be an indoor snowball fight!!!) If you would like to have your homeschool family create something to do for this event please email the Library Manager at: mrounds@midyork.org.

Looking for a good book to read? How about joining our book talk on Wednesday January 22 at 6:30pm as we will be reading, Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. Copies can be picked up now! Discussion open to teens and adults! So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!

Our second annual Silent Auction ENDS FRIDAY at 8pm!!  Over 100 items will be available for bidding!  Several businesses have donated some great things and we have handmade items, toys and more!  There is something for everyone!  Stop in and bid today!  Shop for your loved ones at the library this holiday season!  (The auction is being held in the library’s program room.)

It’s Christmastime and Santa wants to hear from you! So stop in to the library now (until December 20) and write your letter to Santa with all your Christmas wishes on it! Make sure you address the back of the paper when you fold it, so we can deliver it to the North Pole for you! Slip it into our special letters to Santa mailbox at the circulation desk! Open to all ages; young and old!

We welcome all to join us this Friday December 13 for our Annual Open House from 5:00pm-8:00pm!  Come see what theme we chose for our Christmas tree!  Eat some yummy goodies!  Be sure to sign up for your chance to win your own “Elf on the Shelf” book or an adult Christmas coloring book!  Come see Santa!! The kids can play games, watch some Christmas movies, make some crafts and more!  DON’T FORGET to make your final bids on our silent auction! Lots of fun for the ENTIRE family!

Our Christmas NERF Battle Night will be this Saturday December 14 from 4:30pm-7:00pm.  Be sure to stop in and sign up now if you are seven or older (adults too!)  We only have 14 spots so sign up early!  Make sure to bring your own snack and beverage and have fun as we celebrate NERF in Christmas style!

On Wednesday December 18 you are welcome to join us for our Book Talk at 6:30pm. We will be discussing Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg.
