Want to be a part of history??? Now’s your chance! All residents (young or old) of Madison County are cordially invited to be part of the new time capsule!  Come in to the library between 5:00pm-6:00pm on Friday June 1 and record your positive, personal message.  Each message will be compiled onto a DVD that will be enclosed in the new time capsule on June 4 at the County.

This Friday June 1 please join us for “Madison County Courthouse, Then and Now” historic talk at 6:30pm!  Madison County Historian, Matthew Urtz, will speak about the construction of the original courthouse as seen through the journals of HB Peckham, Construction Foreman. He will also talk about the modern renovation and efforts to preserve the courthouses historic characteristics.

Don’t forget Mahjong has begun so if you want to learn how to play or love the game, stop in every Monday from 1-3pm!

On Friday June 15 we will be having another Family Movie Night at 7:00pm.  We will be showing, Sherlock Gnomes!  Popcorn as always is provided; bring your own beverage!  (PLEASE NOTE: We are not doing the end of school year movie marathon this year due to low turnout in the last two years as well as scheduling conflicts.)

We have started the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program at the library!  If you have a child one year or older and isn’t in Kindergarten, stop in and sign them up!  Read all the details here:  https://morrisvillepubliclibrary.org/1000-books-before-kindergarten/

We will be closed on Monday May 28 to observe Memorial Day.  We will reopen Tuesday at 10am.

We start our summer hours on Saturday May 26.  That means we will be closed Saturdays through Labor Day.  We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday closed.

This Friday May 18 we will be having a Family Movie Night at 7:00pm.  We will be showing, Peter Rabbit!  Popcorn will be provided; bring your own beverage! Be sure to read the book by Beatrix Potter first so you can compare the book to the movie!

Join us for Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour!  Bring your toddler or preschool child in on Tuesday May 22 at 10:00am.   Help us enjoy the topic, “I Scream for Ice Cream!” and help us to celebrate another great year of story hour!  We do plan to have a 6 week summer reading story hour for our younger friends that will run Tuesdays at 10am from July 3- August 7, 2018.  If you cannot join us this summer, we hope to see you the first Tuesday in October as our regular story hour resumes!

Be sure to join us on Tuesday May 22 for an “Intro to Do Terra” program at 5:30pm. Come learn how quality essential oils can be used every day to help you and your family live healthier.  Presented by Tracy Clark and Robin Suarez.

Help us decorate a letter for our Summer Reading banner!  Stop in during library hours now until Friday May 25 and get a letter to take home and decorate!  First come, first serve.  Open to kids ages 2-17!  Letters due back to the library by June 15, 2018.

Join us this Friday May 4 for a Movie Night at 7:00pm!  We provide the popcorn, bring your own beverage and join us! We will be showing the movie, The Greatest Showman. This movie is rated PG.

On Friday May 11 please join us for our “A Walk Through Hamilton NY’s Historic Houses” at 6:30pm.  We welcome Madison County Historian, Judy Lyrek, who will present on Historical Houses in Hamilton NY. Come and see the photos and hear the stories behind some of the most prominent houses in the Town of Hamilton.

On Wednesday May 16 we will be having another Book Talk at 6:30pm.  We will be reading, The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. Copies can be picked up now! Discussion open to teens and adults!  So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!

Be sure to utilize our new service, Curbside Delivery available NOW!  Call the library for more details!  We will deliver your materials to your car between 3pm-5pm on Fridays!  (If you want curbside delivery besides this time, please call ahead.  If two people are working, we will gladly gather your materials and bring them to your car!)
