If you haven’t turned in your pumpkin coloring contest entry (kids toddler-sixth grade), please do so by October 21 at 4pm!  Winners will be announced at our Halloween party at the end of the month.

Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour is back!  Bring your toddler or preschool child in on Tuesday October 24 at 10:00am.   Help us have fun with the topic, “Get Well Soon”!  Stories, finger plays, a craft and more!  If you can’t make that day, join us Tuesday October 31 for “Boo!-It’s Halloween”!  The complete list of topics is available at the circulation desk now.

This Friday October 20 please join us for our Teen/Adult Movie Night at 7:00pm.  Popcorn will be provided!  Just bring your own beverage!  We will be showing, Spider-Man: Homecoming!  It is rated PG-13, so only kids older than 13 will be allowed to watch unless they bring a parent or guardian.

Please join us this Saturday October 21 for our H. Russell Eastman Historic Talk at 1:00pm!  Come hear Mr. Eastman talk about growing up on Good Luck Farm in Waterville, NY.  Hear as he shares the history of this farm and other memories tidbits of a town not too far from Morrisville.

There will be no Mahjong on Monday October 23.  They are now meeting 2 times a month throughout the winter months.  Please call the library for the dates or check out our website:  www.midyorklibr.org/morrisville.

On Friday October 27 we will be having our annual Halloween Party at 6:30pm!  Wear your costumes and join us for a spooky celebration!  We will not only announce the winners of the pumpkin coloring contest, but play fun and games and make cool crafts too!

Friday November 3 will be our Wine and Paint Night at 6:30pm!  Open to adults and kids 13 and older! If you don’t drink wine we will have grape juice and of course, goodies for everyone too! Cost is $30 per person (payable the night of the program). Reservations are required! We can have no more than 28 so space is limited! WE WILL NOT TAKE SIGN UPS OVER THE PHONE, EMAIL OR SOCIAL MEDIA. YOU MUST STOP IN TO THE LIBRARY! (We are also taking monetary donations for the wine and goodies for the evening so if you would like to donate, please contact the Library Manager.)

On Wednesday November 8 we are hosting, the Cooking Matters at the Store Pop-Up Tour at 6:30pm!  Want to save money at the store?  Want to buy healthy foods for your family?  Come learn how with a tour of a virtual grocery store!  All participants receive a $5 gift card to Wal-Mart, a reusable grocery bag and more!  Open to 18 and up!  Please sign up if you think you might be able to attend starting October 16, 2017 at the circulation desk.  (We want to make sure we have enough free gifts for each participant!)

We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Our 15th Annual Pumpkin Coloring Contest has begun!  Stop in to the library and pick up your pumpkin coloring contest entry!  You have until October 21 at 4pm to turn in your creations for judging.  Open to toddler to 6th graders!  Winners will be announced at our Halloween party at the end of the month.

We are partnering with the Morrisville Fire Department to bring an event of “egg-y” proportions!  Join us for our Great Egg Drop on Friday October 13 at 6:30pm at the Morrisville Fire House!  Can you create a “protective container” to house a raw egg?  We will place a raw egg in your creation and the firefighters will drop it from the raised ladder truck (so be sure to bring whatever is needed to close your egg in)!  Put your thinking caps on and protect your egg at all costs!  All adults and kids are welcome to participate!  If you make it through the first round, you move on to the second round and we continue until only one egg is left not broken!  The winner will receive a Kindle Fire!  There will be fire safety activities and fun stuff to do for adults and children that evening too!  Great event for the entire family!  So call or stop into the library and sign up to create your “egg-tastic” safe container now!  If you cannot make the event, drop off your container and closure system by 5pm this day (marked with your name) and we will enter it too!!

Looking for a good book to read?  How about joining our book talk as we will be reading, The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware on Wednesday October 18 at 6:30pm.  Copies can be picked up now!  Discussion open to teens and adults!  So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!
