Summer Reading begins on Tuesday July 5!  The theme this year is, “On Your Mark, Get Set-READ”!  Stop in and sign up starting then!  Remember we have a children’s program (ages 1-17) and an adult one too!  EXCITING NEWS:  IF THE CHILDREN READ 1100 HOURS COLLECTIVELY through the course of the program, THEY CAN TURN THE LIBRARY MANAGER INTO A HUMAN PIZZA at graduation!!!!!  That’s not the only cool thing going on this summer!  Stop in and find out more!

New this summer we will be having a 6-week long special Summer Reading Kiddies Korner (our preschool story hour) that meets every Tuesday from July 5 through August 9!  Be sure to bring your kiddos in at 10am for stories, finger plays, crafts and more!  July 5 we will be hearing stories about 1, 2, 3 Numbers!  July 12 we will be reading about “Move It”!

On Wednesday July 6 join us for our SRP Mural at 6:30pm.  Help us create the Summer Reading mural for the summer! Supplies will be provided; just need all young and old talent to come and create!

Friday July 8 we will have Robert Rivest, Comic Mime here at 6:30pm.  He entertains audiences of all ages with his “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read, Move, Laugh & Play” program! He will joyfully motivate them to get up, get moving and keep reading. Using mime, comedy, and interactive playfulness, Robert shares fun ways to move and laugh!

Join us on Saturday July 9 for our Annual Book Sale from 8:00am-2:00pm.  Lots of great deals!  Get some great reads for the summer ahead!  The Book Sale will be held in the Library’s program room.  The Library will be closed to the public (due to summer hours).

On Monday July 11 be sure to check out our CLEARANCE BOOK SALE from 12:00pm-6:30pm.  Bag Sale!  Whatever you can get in a bag for a $1!!!  AND SPECIAL for Nonprofits and teachers only– Everything is free if you bring ID from where you work or talk to the Library Manager.

Monday July 11 starts our Sports Movie Marathon at 7:00pm!  Join us every Monday during summer reading to watch a classic sports movie!  Join us tonight for Rudy, a classic football movie!  We provide the popcorn; bring your own beverage.

Join us on Wednesday July 13 for Yummy!-Fun with Food at 6:30pm.  Did your parents teach you it’s not polite to play with your food?  Well it’s okay at the library this summer!  Do some cool games and crafts, play with food and more!  Sure to be a grand ole time!

On Friday July 15 be sure to join us for Blast From the Past, Classic Game Night at 6:30pm! Come play lots of games and we bet there are some classic games that you may have never even heard of!  Lots of fun and silliness to occur!

Don’t forget we are closed Saturdays through Labor Day.  We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Be sure to join us on Wednesday June 22 through Friday June 24 for our END of SCHOOL Movie Marathon!  We provide the popcorn every night!  Please bring the family for these GREAT movies!  Don’t forget to bring your own beverage every night!  Celebrate the start of summer with us! On Wednesday June 22 we will be having our Family Movie Night and will be showing, Norm of the North (Rated PG) at 7:00pm. Thursday June 23 will be our Teen/Adult Movie Night and we are showing The Boy (Rated PG 13) at 7:00pm.  (If you are under the age of 13 make sure you bring an adult with you.)  On Friday June 24 we are having an Adult Movie Night and we are showing the movie, 13 Hours (Rated R) at 7:00pm.  Only people 17 and over will be allowed in without a parent/guardian.

Did you know we have FREE WIFI on site and 9 computers for public use?  We sell postage stamps and two kinds of envelopes.  Did you know we also sell Madison County Landfill punch cards?  We also have a notary on staff and we do one-on-one training of devices (i.e.-tablets, kindle fires, smart phones, etc.)  We also do faxes ($1 for the first page, 10 cents each page after) and make copies (10 cents each).  Get your DVD’s here for your family movie nights too and they are FREE!  Stop in and take advantage of all we can do for you!

Be sure to join us on Thursday June 2 for Essential Oils at 6:30pm.  Join Robin Suarez as she helps us to better our lives naturally.  Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in flowers, seeds, bark, roots and other parts of plants. They are powerfully fragrant. They have been used throughout history for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits.

On Friday June 3 we are having a Teen/Adult Movie Night at 7:00pm.  We are showing the movie, Bridge of Spies with Tom Hanks!  Bring your own beverage; we provide the popcorn!  Movie is rated PG-13 so we will only allow people 13+ in to view the movie unless you are with a parent or guardian.  (Note:  Movie is 141 minutes so if you have library business, do it before the movie starts).

On Friday June 10 we will be having “Madison County on Fire” Historic Talk at 6:30pm.  Join Madison County Historian, Matt Urtz, who will present Madison County on Fire!  Urtz will talk about some of the most prominent fires in the county’s history utilizing newspaper clippings & photos.
