This Friday August 1 at 6:30pm, we are having a Nature Scavenger Hunt! You will be given a list of things that you must find outside! It won’t be find a leaf but more like “find something fuzzy” or “find something that makes noise”. Lots of fun to be had!
Field Paleontologists, Mike & Roberta Straka, will explore the great extinction that wiped out all the dinosaurs & other animals on Wednesday August 6 at 6:30pm. The show will feature Molly the Mosasaur as well as fun-filled music, show & tell, an exciting experiment and a touch of magic in this great show, “Exploding Geoscience”!
On Friday August 8 at 6:30pm, join us for Einstein’s Megatronic Cosmic Café! Choose from lots of different items on the menu! You will be served four “courses”. See if you can identify what the items really are! For example: what is a “Newton’s Apple”? Pick it as part of one of your courses and you could find out!
On Wednesday August 13 at 2:30pm, join 9WSYR Meteorologist, Jim Teske, as he shares with us his exciting job! Learn how he tracks the weather, storms and more! Also watch footage of a tornado!
“Don’t let the gravity of the situation get you down, catch the fun” says Dave & Kyle Fultz, Gravitational Bull Jugglers that are appearing at the library on Friday August 15 at 6:30pm. Come see the fun and amazing antics of these two as summer reading comes to an end!
Get your summer reading records in so your minutes are recorded by Friday August 15 at 8pm. Remember to read at least ten hours and if collectively all children read 1000 or more hours, they can silly string the Library Manager at graduation!
Summer Reading graduation will be on Wednesday August 20 at 6:30pm. All the children who completed the ten hour reading requirement are invited to this ceremony. Prizes, t-shirts, certificates & ice cream sundaes!

Summer Reading has begun! If you haven’t signed your child up yet, stop in and do so today! If you are an adult, we have a summer reading program for you too!
Come to Grossology 101 this Friday July 18 at 6:30pm! We will explore the library and the germs inside it; have some “gross out” contests, eat some “gross” treats and LOTS more!
Join us on Wednesday July 23 at 6:30pm for Operation Safe Child ID program & McGruff, the crime dog! All parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles or caregivers, get your child’s Operation SAFE child ID card! If you already have one, but moved, have a different phone number, or your child has grown and needs a new picture, stop in! While you are busy with this, the kids get to hang out with McGruff, the crime dog, and the Library Manager doing cool things!
On Friday July 25 we will be having Science Lab Fun! at 6:30pm! Come make mad scientist “lab coats” and then do a bunch of wild and crazy “mad” experiments and create your own lava lamp to take home! We ask that you please bring an over-sized to you, plain white t-shirt that you can use to make your “lab coat” with. The correct size should come to about your knees or mid thigh.
Join us Wednesday July 30 for Tie Dying! at 6:30pm! Please bring in a 100% pre-washed cotton item(s) (i.e.-white handkerchief, t-shirt or other white cotton item.) Please dress to get messy as well!

Summer Reading begins Monday July 7th! “Fizz, Boom, READ” is the theme this year! Be sure to stop in and sign your child (1-17) up! If you are an adult, we have a summer reading program for you too! Sign up this week as well!
To kick off summer reading, we will be showing the LEGO Movie on Monday July 7 at 2:30pm! Bring your own drink and we will provide the popcorn! Sign up for summer reading before or after too!
Help us create the Summer Reading mural for the summer on Wednesday July 9 at 6:30pm! Supplies will be provided; just need all young and old talent to come and create!
Join Jennifer Clark as she brings her traveling exotic petting zoo, Out of the Cage, to the library on Friday July 11 at 6:30pm! She will be bringing 6 different animals to learn about as well as see and touch!
Join us for our annual Book Sale on Saturday July 12 from 8am-2pm! The sale will be held in the library program room. Also, join us for special deals on Monday July 14! Call or stop into the library for more details on our special sale on Monday!

The library is collecting books for our book sale now until July 11. We will accept books– adults, children’s and nonfiction; DVD’s; books on tape or CD; and music CD’s. We will NOT accept magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries, VCR tapes, moldy, mildew stricken items as well as non-bound items.

We will be closed on Friday July 4 to observe Independence Day. We will reopen Monday July 7 at 12pm. We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm.
