Bring a book or two (or more) that you would like to share with our Book Talk group this Friday May 2 at 12:15pm.  Bring your lunch and discuss all these favorites!   After, these will be compiled into our summer reading list for adults for 2014!

 

Tai Chi Chuan Class meets on Monday May 5 at 6:30pm.  Come learn Tai Chi Chuan with instructor Bill Snyder.  Open to all teens and adults.  Best part, it’s FREE!  If you cannot make this day, join the class on Monday May 12!

 

Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, meets on Tuesday May 6 at 9:45am.  Bring the little ones and have fun hearing stories about our favorite ladies-MOM!  Make a Mother’s Day card for her too!  If you can’t make it, join us Tuesday May 13 for stories about growing things!

 

On Friday May 9 at 6:30pm join us for Scandals of Madison County Part 3-1850′s-1900, historical talk!  Join our County Historian, Matt Urtz, for the scandals during this period of time!  Join him in June for the final scandals!

 

Do you have items that are significant to the history of the community?  Things like old photos, letters, postcards, clippings, etc?  Then join our Village Historian, Sue Greenhagen, on Saturday May 10 from 10-12pm with her laptop and scanner here at the library.  Bring what you might have, we’ll scan it, and give you a digital copy.  We don’t want to keep the original and it won’t be harmed by scanning.

 

Join us as we celebrate “Reading is Fun week!” with Library Bingo Fun! on Friday May 16 at 6:30pm!  We will have special bingo boards with library terms and pictures on them.  Get bingo and you can either choose a book from our book sale or a toy prize!  Refreshments will be provided!

 

The Library Board of Trustees will meet on Thursday May 15 at 6:30pm.  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

 

We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Join us this Friday April 25 for our Lunch Book Talk at 12:15pm.  The book being discussed is, Joyland by Stephen King.  Bring your lunch and join in the discussion.  Books can be picked up now.

We will be showing, Saving Mr. Banks, this Friday April 25 at 6pm!  This is a fascinating look at the circuitous “collaborative” process Walt Disney, his creative team, and author P.L. Travers engaged in in bringing the character Mary Poppins to life on the big screen in the early 1960s.  It is rated PG-13 so no children under the age of 13 to view the movie without their parents/guardians please.  We provide the popcorn so bring the family and your own beverage and see this great movie!

Join us for the movie, Bastards out of Carolina, on Tuesday April 29 at 6:00pm.  This book we read at our March book talk.  Come see the movie even if you didn’t read the book.  Open to adults and teens 17 or older only!

Join us from Monday May 5-Saturday May 17 and help us decorate a letter for our Summer Reading banner!  Stop in during library hours during this time and get a letter to take home and decorate!  First come, first serve.  Open to kids ages 3-15!  Letters due back to the library by June 20, 2014.

Our Annual Easter Basket raffle has begun!  Get your tickets today to win one of our children’s baskets full of Easter goodies!  We will draw the lucky winners on Friday April 18!

This Friday April 11 we will be hosting our Scandals of Madison County talk #2 at 6:30pm.  Join Madison County Historian, Matthew Urtz, as he shares with us the Madison County scandals from Revolutionary history until 1850.  Join him in May and June for scandals up to present day!

Yes it is National Wear Your Jammies To Work Day on Friday April 18!  So our employees will be wearing theirs and if you come in wearing your jammies (anytime while we are open), you can pick from our assorted candy bars!  Come relax at the library with us!
