Get your tickets for a Concrete Leaf Decoration for your garden now!  Buy a raffle ticket for $1 or 6/$5. First raffle ends Friday November 1 so get your tickets today!  We will raffle another leaf again in the spring!

Friday November 1 is Video Game Night at 6:30pm.  Bring your handheld gaming system OR come and play on our WII gaming system.  Play against other gaming enthusiasts!

Our free Tai Chi Chuan Class will meet again on Monday November 4 at 6:30pm.  Come join instructor Bill Snyder.  Open to all teens and adults.  If you can’t make it that day, he will be here again on November 18.

Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, meets on Tuesday November 5 at 9:30am.  Bring the little ones and help us have fun hearing stories about trains, make an edible train and a paper one to take home!  If you can’t make that day, join us on Tuesday November 12 for Friendship stories!

On Wednesday November 6 at 6:30pm join us for our Save Energy, Save $ workshop.  Learn about reducing energy bills, low-cost, no-cost energy conservation methods PLUS each participating household will receive free energy saving light bulbs!  PATRONS MUST pre-register at the circulation desk before the program.  We need at least 5 people to sign up or the program is cancelled!

Join our Village and Town Historian for her Monumental Art of Gettysburg talk on Friday November 8 at 6:30pm!  Sue Greenhagen will talk about the fascinating stories behind the monuments on the Gettysburg Battlefield.

Come see the movie Cider House Rules on Wednesday November 13 at 6:00pm.  This is open to adults only!  Popcorn will be served but bring your own drink!

Join us on Friday November 15 at 6:30pm as we have a birthday party for Mickey Mouse!  Play some games, read some stories, eat birthday cake and see some of Mickey’s classic short tales!

We have two book talks coming up in November.  Interested in participating in them?  Contact the library for more details.

The library will be closed on Monday November 11 to observe Veteran’s Day.  We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

If you are in Pre-K to 6th grade be sure to drop off your coloring contest entry by Saturday October 19!   Winners will be announced at our Halloween party later in the month!

We are raffling off a Concrete Leaf Decoration for your garden, made by our very own landscaper, Karen Verne!  Help us raise $1500 for the damages the flood of 2013 created to our gardens!  Buy a raffle ticket for $1 or 6/$5. Or donate money to the cause too!  We will raffle another leaf again in the spring!  Monies needed by spring 2014!

Bring the family in for popcorn and a movie this Friday October 18 at 6:00pm!  We will be showing the movie, The Croods.  This will prove solidly entertaining for families seeking a fast-paced, funny cartoon adventure.

Bring your lunch and join in the discussion of the book, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce on Friday October 25 at 1:00pm.  Books can be picked the middle of September during library hours.  This talk will take place in the museum room of the library.

Join us for our annual Halloween party on Friday October 25 at 6:30pm.  Wear your costumes and join us for a spooky celebration!  We will not only announce the winner of the pumpkin coloring contest, but have fun, play games and make cool crafts too!

Join Sue Greenhagen, Village and Town Historian, for her “Graveyards of Madison County” talk on Friday October 11 at 6:30pm. This will take a look at many of Madison County’s cemeteries.  Included are interesting people, interesting headstones, and the “do’s & don’ts” of cemetery care.

On Tuesday October 15 at 6:30pm, World War II Veteran, Al Paviglianti, will speak.  Al served in the 3rd Marine Division headquarters.  He spent the majority of his service time in the Pacific theatre including Guadalcanal, Guam, Iwo Jima and Bougainville.  Al is currently the Adjutant for the Madison County American Legion.  We are excited to host this amazing man!

From Tuesday October 15 through Saturday October 19 the Archives of World War II will be on display.  This is sponsored by the Madison County Historical Society, our Veterans Office and the County Clerk’s Office.  It will be mostly photos, some letters and other things from folks during World War II.

Join us for our book talk on Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s book, Love in the Time of the Cholera on Wednesday October 16 at 6:30pm.  Copies are available now.
