Summer Reading Banner Letters Available- CALLING ALL KIDS! Help us decorate our Summer reading banner! Stop in and get your letter now (first come first serve)! Take it home and decorate it and return it by June 16, 2023.

Take-n-Make June Craft(s)– Attention Kids! CLICK HERE to see what we are making this month! Open to ages 2-12; while supplies last!

Morning Walking Group- We are starting a group that will meet every Thursday AM (if it’s rainy, stay home) at 10:00am to get some steps in for health! Open to any that are available and able to walk! That means our older patrons, our homeschool patrons, moms/dads while the kiddos are at school, kids in strollers (bring your parents), etc. Meet us at the library at 10:00am and we will walk for an hour! Meet new friends, bring a friend, come and socialize while we get healthy! (Be sure to wear proper walking shoes and bring a bottle of water too!) This program will run every Thursday from May 11 through October 19, 2023! (You do not need to attend every week.) June dates are June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29.

That means our older patrons, our homeschool patrons, moms/dads with or without your kids, kids in strollers (bring your parents), etc. (Please note: If your bring a young child who isn’t in a stroller, you need to assure us that he/she will be well attended to and able to walk the entire time.) Meet us at the library at 6:00pm and we will walk for an hour! Meet new friends, bring a friend, come and socialize while we get healthy! Facebook Live Chick Hatching and Hatched Cams- Friday June 2 and Saturday June 3– You guessed it! For the 5th year in a row, we are hatching eggs live! You will get to see the babies hatch and see them in our hatched cam as well-all done on Facebook Live! The eggs go into the incubator the weekend of May 12 and should hatch the weekend of June 2, 2023! We will go live as soon as we see the first pip in an egg!  We will remain Live the entire time (technology permitting) and we will restart the feed every 8 hours, 24 hours a day until the chicks are hatched!  Then view our Hatched Cam after to see the baby chicks as they get used to their new surroundings.  Hatched chicks will be able to be viewed in person during library hours for a few days after hatching before they go to their permanent home.

Kreative Krafters group– Meets every Tuesday from 5pm-7pm in the program roomThis is open to anyone who wants to work on a craft but never finds the time! (Some sample crafts are: knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, needlepoint, the new popular Diamond Dotz, Quickpoint, quilting, scrapbooking, whittling, origami, weaving and beadwork.) If it’s a craft and you can bring it with you, then pack it up and come on over! (Dates are June 6, 13, 20 and 27.)

Homeschool Retreat!– Join us every 2nd Thursday of the month from 1:00pm-3:00pm for games, crafts, fun, snacks and socializing! We meet on Thursday June 8! Feel free to bring a game or two and a snack if you want! (We will provide them too!) Come meet other homeschoolers and have some fun too!

Movie NightTom & Jerry: the movie (2021) rated PG– Join us on Friday June 9 at 7:00pm! Please bring your own beverage and snacks. We will provide ONE cone of popcorn to each person in attendance. Movies will be shown when the library is closed. Please be sure to use the program room door as the main entrance WILL BE LOCKED! IF YOU ARE EXHIBITING ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND OUR MOVIE NIGHTS! Staff reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are exhibiting symptoms at any time during the movie. Check back soon to see what we are showing!!

Jigsaw Puzzle Competition-CANCELLED! Due to not enough groups signing up, (we needed a certain number to have a competition) we are cancelling our jigsaw puzzle competition tonight. We will try again late fall when people’s schedules are not as busy! Stay tuned for the date!

Airplane Tales #1, Historic Talk– Jim Coulthart, a local amateur military aviation historian, will present his collection of WW2 anecdotes, incidents, accidents with ties to Central New York. Among the tales to be presented are those of the men (and women) and their machines with names such as “Able Mabel”, “Getaway Gertie” ,“Hot Stuff”, “Pistol Ball”, “Genevieve”, along with many others. Please join us on Friday June 16 at 6:00pm.

June Book Discussion–The Night Shift by Alex Finlay
Copies can be picked up starting May 24, 2023.  Read the book because you want to OR come and meet in person on Wednesday June 21 at 6:00pm and talk about it with your fellow Morrisvillians!

SUMMER READING registration begins!Starting June 26, 2023, all ages (1- adult) can sign up for our summer reading program, All Together Now! Start your reading as beginning Wednesday July 5, all the fun of summer reading begins at the library and at home!
