WEEK ONE- SIGNING UP FOR THE GREATEST SUMMER EVENT!
Monday June 29– SUMMER READING BEGINS!
Sign up and log into ReadSquared (CLICK HERE to SIGN UP) to start recording your reading times! (Kids 1-17). PLEASE MAKE SURE WHEN YOU SIGN UP (KIDS), YOU CLICK “MYSELF” WHEN YOU REGISTER. IF YOU DO “MYSELF AND CHILDREN”, IT WILL NOT WORK. If you do not have access to the internet, please call the library at 315-684-9130 and leave a message and we will get you a form to complete and we will input your information for you! (Trust us though, if you have internet access there is so much more FUN online earning badges, playing games etc, than our boring old form!)
Monday June 29-Monday July 6– Imagine Your Story No Contact Summer Reading Mural
What’s your story? What have you been up to? If you could go or do anything where/what would you visualize it would be? Using your imagination, create a drawing/painting etc, (no bigger than a normal sheet of paper) for our display! Drop off during our no contact pickup times, or place in an envelope and mail it to us or scan in to your computer and email to morrisville@midyork.org! We will display all these great “stories” in our big circle window, main entrance door/window for all to see from July 10-August 28, 2020! (All will need to lay flat in the window so please be cautious as to what artistic means you use.)
Monday June 29- Friday August 21- LEGO of your Boredom Summer Reading Edition!
Lego Enthusiasts from ages 1-17 can build an original Lego creation that is based on our summer reading theme: Imagine Your Summer at the Morrisville Public Library! You have until Friday August 21 at 8pm to build your creation! When your creation is complete, please send a photo of it to us via Facebook message or email it to us at morrisville@midyork.org! Please note that photos of your creation will be put up for a vote, creations should be made so that they can be viewed in their entirety in a photo. Participants’ creations will be voted on later by our social media viewers! The winner of the contest will receive a Kindle Fire! Happy building! **IF YOU NEED IDEAS CLICK HERE!
Monday June 29-Friday August 21- Check out our virtual Estimation Jar contest (CLICK HERE for the pics and info to play!) Complete the Google Form with your guess (on the link page) and you may win a jar at the end of the summer! Check out our virtual Jeopardy game too! (CLICK HERE to play!) Wednesday July 8– Help, I’m Prisoner in the Library Reading- 6:30pm
Join Library Aide Jennifer, as she reads this book virtually! Suggested for grades 3-8 but if your kiddo wants to listen in, the more the merrier! (She will read two chapters a week for 6 weeks every Wednesday!) We will be using Facebook Live so tune in! (Every week will be posted on the library’s Facebook page until summer reading ends so you can catch up if you miss a week!)
