January 2024 Events

LIBRARY CLOSED- The library will be closed to observe New Year’s Day on Monday January 1, 2024. We will reopen Tuesday January 2 at 10am.

Canned Food & Hygiene Drive
We will be having our annual Canned Food Drive to benefit the Morrisville Food Pantry from Tuesday January 2- Saturday March 2.  Please help us make it better than ever!  Help us to benefit to our food pantry!  We can only take any non-perishable, UNEXPIRED canned food item!!  We will ALSO collect hygiene products like soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes etc. for the Pantry as well!

Take-n-Make January Craft(s)– Attention Kids! CLICK HERE to see what we are making this month! Open to ages 2-12; while supplies last!

Kreative Krafters group– Meets every Tuesday from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the program room! This is open to anyone who wants to work on a craft but never finds the time! (Some sample crafts are: knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, needlepoint, the new popular Diamond Dotz, Quickpoint, quilting, scrapbooking, whittling, origami, weaving and beadwork.) If it’s a craft and you can bring it with you, then pack it up and come on over! (Dates are January 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.)

Tiny Art Show, year 2- Stop in starting Monday January 8 through January 19 and get your canvas to take home and do; no supplies provided; one canvas per person present; while supplies last!) Open for ages 7 and up; so, adults you too! All artwork must be returned by Friday January 26 to ensure it being entered into the voting for the best tiny art in Morrisville! Patrons can vote at the library starting February 1 or look for our Facebook post that week to vote as well! The winning artist will win a small prize! (All artwork will remain on display through February.)

Bookmarks for the Library- Come help us make (or learn and make) diamond dot bookmarks to sell at the library as a fundraiser after!  We provide all the materials, but we need help making them!  Open to ages 8 through adult guys and gals!  (We would like to make lots of bookmarks, some seasonal to sell at all the time and especially during our book sales!)  Come anytime Wednesday January 10 from 2-7pm, stay the whole time, your choice!

Movie Night– Paw Patrol (2023 version) rated PG- We will be showing the new Paw Patrol movie on Friday January 12 at 7pm! Please bring your own beverage and snacks. We will provide ONE cone of popcorn to each person in attendance. Movies will be shown when the library is closed. Please be sure to use the program room door as the main entrance WILL BE LOCKED! IF YOU ARE EXHIBITING ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND OUR MOVIE NIGHTS! Staff reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are exhibiting symptoms at any time during the movie.

LIBRARY CLOSED-The library will be closed to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday January 15, 2024. We will reopen Tuesday January 16 at 10am.

Library Board Meeting- The Library Board of Trustees meet on Tuesday January 16 at 5:30pm. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Video Game Night- Bring your own devices, games etc. and join other like-minded video game people on Thursday January 18 from 5:30pm-7:00pm! Our public computers will not be used for this program; this takes place in our program room. You must bring your own handheld devices- phones, Kindles, laptops, Nintendo Switches etc. No one is to use other’s equipment without permission. Come chat with others, share some tricks and tips and have fun! Can bring snacks and a beverage if you choose. Open to anyone who has their own gaming handhelds.

Board Game Night- Unplug from your phones, devices and video game console! Bring a favorite board game, a beverage and snack if you want, and join others who want to unplug, unwind, and relax with other people/families and have some fun!!! We will provide some classic games as well! All the fun begins on Monday January 22 at 6:00pm!

January Book Discussion– BYOB (Bring your own Book!)– Please join us on Wednesday January 24 at 6pm for bring your own book (BYOB) discussion! This will be a laid back, informal gathering to discuss any book you are currently reading or have recently finished. (Limit of 4 per person please.) You can give suggestions, get suggestions or just relax and talk books with others.
