Book/Materials Policy

Morrisville Public Library only accepts: children’s books, books on CD, large type books, DVDs, or books that are two years current. Also allowed are arrangements made with the Library Manager to donate books/materials to pay off fines.

We reserve the right to evaluate and to utilize the gifts in accordance with the same material selection criteria applied to purchased materials. No conditions may be imposed relating to any book after its acceptance by the Library.

We do not accept:  dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks, medical books, readers digest condensed books, VHS tapes, or magazines.

All donations must be clean, non-moldy/smelly and useable!  Staff will look over all items that are donated and will return any that are not useable at the time of drop off.

No items are to be dropped in the drop box or left outside the library.   One regular file sized box or less may be dropped off during regular open hours.  Otherwise, an appointment must be made with the Library Manager.

Materials not identified as belonging to the Morrisville Public Library, any Library in the Mid York System or otherwise carrying indication of ownership (and left at the Library either in the drop box or otherwise), shall be held for a period of three weeks and then, if not claimed, processed accordingly.
