Take-n-Make November Craft(s)– Attention Kids! CLICK HERE to see what we are making this month! Open to ages 2-12; while supplies last!

October (in November) Book Discussion- Half Moon by Mary Beth Keane– Copies can be picked up starting October 1, 2023. Read the book because you want to OR come and meet in person on Wednesday November 1 at 6:00pm and talk about it with your fellow Morrisvillians!

Movie NightHaunted Mansion (PG-13) Join us on Friday November 3 at 7:00pm! Please bring your own beverage and snacks. We will provide ONE cone of popcorn to each person in attendance. Movies will be shown when the library is closed. Please be sure to use the program room door as the main entrance WILL BE LOCKED! Only children 13 and older will be allowed to view the movie without a parent/guardian present.

Giving Tree Fundraiser– Shop for the library this holiday season from Monday November 6-Saturday December 23 , 2023!  We have several items the library needs! It’s EASY!  Grab a Christmas tag off our giving tree of something you would like to donate to the library.  Buy it, donate it, whatever it says and bring the tag and the item in as soon as you can!  We would like all donations turned in by January 13, 2024.

Kiddies Korner, Story Time–There will be NO STORY TIME on Tuesday November 7. We will be back next week on Tuesday November 14 at 10am!

Kreative Krafters group– Meets every Tuesday from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the program room! This is open to anyone who wants to work on a craft but never finds the time! (Some sample crafts are: knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, needlepoint, the new popular Diamond Dotz, Quickpoint, quilting, scrapbooking, whittling, origami, weaving and beadwork.) If it’s a craft and you can bring it with you, then pack it up and come on over! (Dates are November 7, 14, 21, 28.)

2nd Grade Reading Program– Open to all MECS 2nd graders wanting to complete some of their books for the 2nd grade Book Club! Every month we will be reading on some of the harder topics (poetry, historic people, nonfiction, NY and USA.) On Wednesday November 8 at 6:00pm we will be reading two books about NY State and the USA and doing a fun activity as well! Then after attending, you can mark off those 2 books as read on your reading log! (December’s topic is Historic People!)

Madison County, What Might Have Been, Historic Talk- On Thursday November 9 at 6:00pm, Madison County Historian, Matt Urtz, will look at people, businesses and organizations that once were in Madison County that became much more important after they left and how the county may be different if they had stayed.

LIBRARY CLOSED – The Library will be closed to observe Veterans Day on Saturday November 11, 2023.  We will reopen Monday November 13 at 12:00pm.

Silent Auction begins!– Stop in and bid on several items starting Monday November 13!  Bidding ends on Friday December 8 at 7:00pm.  Perfect gifts to give this holiday season!  The silent auction is being held in the library’s program room.

Kiddies Korner, Story Time–Join us on Tuesday November 14 at 10:00am! We will be hearing some books that Mo Willems wrote, doing some fingerplays, songs, a craft and more! Open to toddlers through preschool!

Local History Movie Night– A few times a year we will be showing movies about our local history! (Sometimes maybe an era, other times people from our area that have granted themselves a movie!) To start this video series, we will be showing, Stories of the Loomis Gang: Central New York’s First Crime Family. (Produced in 2021, runtime is 71 minutes.) As always, we provide the popcorn; bring your own beverage and come watch some history on Wednesday November 15 at 7:00pm.

Video Game Night- Bring your own devices, games etc. and join other like-minded video game people on Thursday November 16 from 5:30pm-7:00pm! Our public computers will not be used for this program; this takes place in our program room. You must bring your own handheld devices- phones, Kindles, laptops, Nintendo Switches etc. No one is to use other’s equipment without permission. Come chat with others, share some tricks and tips and have fun! Can bring snacks and a beverage if you choose. Open to anyone who has their own gaming handhelds. (We are hoping to do this monthly and even more often, if interest is there!)

Jigsaw Puzzle Competition– Register to be one of the 6 teams to be our puzzle champion!  The event takes place on Friday November 17 at 6:00pm. Teams of 2-4 people can sign up (find a cool team name) then come to win! Once we say GO, the teams race to see who can put together a 300 pc puzzle the fastest! The winning team wins a prize and has the title of Puzzle Champion until we do it again in the fall!! (Note: If you know our Library Manager personally, you know she loves to do puzzles and is very fast. She will not be competing but facilitating so don’t be afraid to sign up!) Only 6 teams allowed, so sign up fast! (Must stop into the library to sign up, no phone calls.)

NERF Fun– Bring your own Nerf equipment (no more darts needed- we provide them) and join us for open play around the library on Saturday November 18 at 1:30pm until 3:30pm!  See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from getting hit by a friend’s foam dart!  Open to ages 7 and up; so, adults are welcome too!  Everyone must bring a snack and a drink.  We only have 14 spaces so sign-up starting November 1!

Library Board of Trustees meeting– The Library Board of Trustees meet on Tuesday November 21 at 5:30pm. The public is welcome to attend.

LIBRARY CLOSED – The Library will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday from Wednesday November 22 at 4pm through Sunday November 26, 2023.  We will reopen Monday November 27 at 12:00pm.

Gilligan’s Fundraiser- Help the library out by going to eat at Gilligan’s Restaurant (64 N. Main St. Sherburne) from 4pm-8pm on Monday November 27! 20% of your order will go to the library! Please make sure to tell them you are participating in this fundraiser! Enjoy a great meal and help out your library!
