Winners of our Easter Basket Raffle were:  the flowering basket- Tish Lock; the 3 children’s baskets went to:  Kirston Markowksi, Christina Armstrong and Brian Lane.  I would like to thank 13 month old, Jack Periard for drawing the winners for me!

We are holding a Mother’s Day raffle now at the library.  Stop in and buy your tickets today!  $1 can win you a beautiful basket with lots of goodies for mom!

Our family movie night is back this Friday May 1 at 6:00pm.  The movie being shown is Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler.  Bring a bag of popcorn to share and something comfy to sit in!

Join us for Kiddies Korner on Tuesday May 5 at 9:30am with “Plant A Seed”.  Bring your toddler or preschool child in for stories, songs and more!  If you can’t make that day, join them on Tuesday May 19th for our last Kiddies Korner until next fall.

Join us Wednesday May 6at 6:30pm for our lizard naming party!  Our Library Lizard will finally have a name!  If you haven’t stopped in to vote please do so before May 2.  The choices are: Dewey, Louie, Bookmark, Echo and Lucky.

Have you gotten a gift for Mom yet?  Join us Friday May 8 at 6:30pm and make one for your mom!

On Monday May 11 at 6:30pm, adults can join Denise Tyler as she shows us how to create things with stamps and punches.  Create some items to take home.  You can bring your own stamps but she has plenty as well!

May’s book talk is all about sharing some of your favorite books!  So bring one (or two) in on Friday May 15 at 7:00pm.  The book talkers will compile these titles to make our summer reading list 2009!

Be sure to check out the beautiful MECS High School Art on display now in the program room!

We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Join us for Bingo Night on Friday April 24 at 6:30pm.  Stop in and play a few rounds!  All kids are guaranteed a prize and adults play for fun!

Join us for “P is for…” night on Wednesday April 29 at 6:30pm.  We will be celebrating everything from pretzels and pigs, to popcorn and penguins!

Books can be picked up now for the next book talk on Friday April 17 at 7pm.  The book being discussed is Jennifer Donnelly’s A Northern Light.

Help us clean up the library grounds on Saturday April 18 at 12:30pm.  Bring your gloves and rakes and help clean up the library from the long winter.  Drinks and snacks will be provided.  Rain date is Saturday April 25.

Kiddies Korner will be all about “Rainy Day Fun” on Tuesday April 21 at 9:30am.  Bring your toddler or preschool child in for stories, songs and more!

There will be a silent art auction to benefit the Library on Tuesday April 21 from 6-9pm at Madison Hall.  Please stop in and bid on some of the great items!

The Friends Annual Meeting will be on Monday April 20 at 7:15pm in the program room.  All Friends members and people interested in being a Friend are encouraged to attend.

The Library Board of Trustees will meet again on Tuesday April 21 at 6:30pm.  At the beginning of the meeting, they will be holding a question and answer session about the upcoming budget vote for the library.  We are asking the school district taxpayers for an increase.  In these lean economic times we have seen the library become the center of the community for job searches, resume writing, a place to hang out and share your woe as well as free programming for your children.  Because of this, we need help.  For more information, come to the Q&A night or check out our website at www.midyork.org/morrisville.

Join us this Friday April 10 at 6:30pm for “Easter is on its Way!”  Come celebrate Easter with us as we read stories, do some crafts and learn about the various different icons of Easter.  The drawing for the three children’s Easter baskets and the Adult flowering one, donated by Holly’s Garden will be drawn at 7pm that night too!  Be sure to get your tickets bought before then!

Join us for “Blast off with Books” on Wednesday April 15 at 6:30pm.  Stop in and learn all about the galaxy in a fun and interesting way!

Join us this Friday April 3 at 6:30pm for “Don’t Forget Your Umbrella Night”.  Lots of fun things about umbrellas will be happening!

The Priceteeni Flea Circus is back on Monday April 6 at 6:30pm.  Bring the entire family in to see the amazing fleas!!!  Always great family entertainment!

Can you believe it is almost Easter already?  Our annual Easter Basket Raffle is on.  We are raffling off three children’s baskets and an adult one.  The children’s baskets are on display.  The adult one, donated by Holly’s Garden, will be delivered the day of the drawing as it’s a flowering basket.  Tickets are $1 a piece and can be purchased from any Library Board member or at the library.  We will be picking the winners on Friday April 10 at 7pm.  Need not be present to win.  All proceeds go to help restore and renovate the library.

Lots of new books are waiting for you!  Some are: True Detectives by Jonathan Kellerman, Pursuit by Karen Robards, Long Fall by Walter Mosley, Corsair by Clive Cussler, Dead Silence by Randy Wayne White, Fault Line by Barry Eisler, and Revenge of the Spellman’s by Lisa Lutz.
