We are showing the movie, Muppets Most Wanted this Friday August 29 at 6:00pm!  Popcorn as always will be provided; you bring your own beverage!

Join us for our first of 3 in a computer series for teens (12 & up) and adults on Wednesday September 3 at 6:30pm.  Learn how to be safe on the Internet while surfing. If you have a laptop or other Internet device (i.e.-phone, e-reader, Kindle fire etc.) please bring it.  If you don’t, it’s not needed to participate.  This is presented by James Nutt of Odd Job Computing, Morrisville, NY.

Join us on Friday September 5 for our Teen/Adult Movie Night at 7:00pm.  We will be showing the movie, Divergent.  We provide the popcorn; just bring your own beverage.  The library closes at 8pm, so if you have library business to attend to, please come early as the movie doesn’t end until 9:30pm!  NOTE: This movie is PG-13 so we will NOT let anyone under the age of 13 view the movie without a parent/guardian.

Tai Chi Chuan Class is back for another year!  Join MSC Professor, Bill Snyder, as he facilitates on Monday September 8 at 6:30pm.  Best part- IT’S FREE!  If you can’t make this day, they meet again on Monday September 15 too!

On Wednesday September 10 at 6:30pm, come hear the “Favorite Stories of Madison County Railroaders & Railroad Admirers!”  Join renowned speaker, John Taibi, as he shares his favorite railroad stories in & around the Morrisville area.  All are taken from research done while preparing his books & short stories about railroading in central New York.

Join us on Friday September 12 for a “Magical History Tour of the Village of Morrisville” at 6:30pm.  Our Village and Town Historian, Sue Greenhagen, will give us the new and improved Magical History Tour!  Get a look at an era gone by through old postcards, pictures and newspaper clippings!  See what the glorious places looked like then and now!  You will be shocked!

We will be closed on Monday September 1 to observe Labor Day.  We reopen on Tuesday at 10am.  Starting on September 6, we will be open again on Saturdays until Memorial Day 2015!  We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm.

“Don’t let the gravity of the situation get you down, catch the fun” says Dave & Kyle Fultz, Gravitational Bull Jugglers that are appearing at the library this Friday August 15 at 6:30pm.  Come see the fun and amazing antics of these two as summer reading comes to an end!

Summer Reading minutes MUST be recorded by this Friday August 15 at 8pm.  Remember to read at least ten hours and if collectively all children read 1000 or more hours, they can silly string the Library Manager at graduation!

Summer Reading graduation will be on Wednesday August 20 at 6:30pm.  All the children who completed the ten hour reading requirement are invited to this ceremony.  Prizes, t-shirts, certificates & ice cream sundaes!

Have you heard things around Madison County like, “Imagination Library”, “books for kids coming to their homes”, “Dolly Parton” and more?  Here’s the scoop- Dolly Parton launched this wonderful program to foster a love of reading among preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a book each month directly delivered to the child’s home. Any child in the Morrisville Eaton Central School District from ages 0-5 can sign up for this great program!  If you haven’t signed your child up, ask us about it today!  We are also accepting donations to keep this program going for years to come!  If interested, please contact us!
