Canned Food & Hygiene Drive-We will be having our annual Canned Food Drive to benefit the Morrisville Food Pantry from NOW- Saturday March 2.  Please help us make it better than ever!  Help us to benefit to our food pantry!  We can only take any non-perishable, UNEXPIRED canned food item!!  We will ALSO collect hygiene products like soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes etc. for the Pantry as well!

Family Movie NightWonka!– We will be showing Wonka! on Friday March 1 at 7pm!   Please bring your own beverage and snacks. We will provide ONE cone of popcorn to each person in attendance. Movies will be shown when the library is closed. Please be sure to use the program room door as the main entrance WILL BE LOCKED! IF YOU ARE EXHIBITING ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND OUR MOVIE NIGHTS! Staff reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are exhibiting symptoms at any time during the movie.

Dr. Seuss Day!– Come grab your special Dr. Seuss activity packet to celebrate Dr. Seuss at home starting Monday March 4! Open to kids ages 2-12 years of age! Packets are available from Monday March 4 while supplies last.

Kreative Krafters group– Meets every Tuesday from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the program room! This is open to anyone who wants to work on a craft but never finds the time! (Some sample crafts are: knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, needlepoint, the new popular Diamond Dotz, Quickpoint, quilting, scrapbooking, whittling, origami, weaving and beadwork.) If it’s a craft and you can bring it with you, then pack it up and come on over! (Dates are March 5, 12, 19 and 26.)

2nd Grade Reading Program– Open to all MECS 2nd graders wanting to complete some of their books for the 2nd grade Book Club! Every month we will be reading on some of the harder topics (poetry, historic people, nonfiction, NY and USA.) On Wednesday March 6 at 6:00pm we will be reading two books about poetry and doing a fun activity as well! Then after attending, you can mark off those 2 books as read on your reading log! (In April, we will be reading about Fairy Tales!)

Emergency Preparedness Program- Join Madison County EMS Educator, Morgan Pedersen, as she shares with us on how to prepare for various emergencies on Friday March 8 at 6:00pm!  This is not just for adults!  Kids ages 12 and up are welcome to attend as well!  (This is the 1st in our Safety and Preparedness Series.  Look for one a month from now through July.)

Board Game Night- Unplug from your phones, devices and video game console! Bring a favorite board game, a beverage and snack if you want, and join others who want to unplug, unwind, and relax with other people/families and have some fun!!! We will provide some classic games as well! All the fun begins on Monday March 11 at 6:00pm!

Kiddies Korner, Story Time–Join us on Tuesday March 12 at 10:00am! We will be hearing stories about “St. Patrick’s Day!”, doing some fingerplays, songs, a craft and more! Open to toddlers through preschool!

Video Game Night-Bring your own devices, games etc. and join other like-minded video game people on Thursday March 14 from 5:30pm-7:00pm! Our public computers will not be used for this program; this takes place in our program room. You must bring your own handheld devices- phones, Kindles, laptops, Nintendo Switches etc. No one is to use other’s equipment without permission. Come chat with others, share some tricks and tips and have fun! Can bring snacks and a beverage if you choose. Open to anyone who has their own gaming handhelds.

Virtual Stroll Through Morrisville (part 1), Historic Talk- Did you miss our stroll down Main Street back in September 2023?!? Did you want to learn more about the places we visited if you did come? Join us on Friday March 15 at 6:00pm as Village Historian, Sue Greenhagen, shares with us more information, pictures and stories about our stroll down Main Street!  In our virtual stroll we will start at the Dana house (east of the Library) down to the old Dexter’s building.  Then join us next month as we finish our stroll down Main Street!

Library Board Meeting- The Library Board of Trustees meet on Tuesday March 19 at 5:30pm. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

March Book Discussion– Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann
Books are available on February 28, 2024. Book discussion will be Wednesday March 20 at 6pm in the program room. You do not have to participate in the discussion, you can just read the book and comment to a staff member too!

NERF FUN!- Bring your own Nerf equipment (no darts needed- we provide them) and join us for open play around the library on Friday March 22 at 7:30pm until 9:30pm!  See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from getting hit by a friend’s foam dart!  Open to ages 7 and up; so, adults are welcome too!  Everyone must bring a snack and a drink.  We only have 14 spaces so sign-up starting March 4!  (Must register by 3/21/24).

Library Closed– The library will be closed on Saturday March 30 for the Easter holiday weekend. We will reopen Monday April 1 at 12pm.
