Beginning November 1, our Giving Tree Fundraiser will start.  Shop for the library this holiday season!  We have several items the library needs! It’s EASY!  Grab a Christmas tag off our giving tree of something you would like to donate to the library.  Buy it, donate it, whatever it says and bring the tag and the item in as soon as you can!  We would like all donations turned in by January 31, 2020.

Our second annual Silent Auction begins Monday November 4!  LOTS and LOTS of items will be available for bidding!  Several businesses have donated some great things and we have handmade items, toys and more!    There is something for everyone!  Stop in and bid Monday!  Bidding ends at 8pm on Friday December 13!  Shop for your loved ones at the library this holiday season!

Join us for Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, on Tuesday November 5 at 10:00am!  Help us have fun with “Going, Going, Gone-WHEELS!”  Stories, finger plays a craft and more! Can’t make it that day?  Join us the following week (November 12) for “Counting & Numbers!”

On Wednesday November 6, join us for Frank Martorana Book Signing/Reading at 6:30pm!  Join us for a reading and book signing of “Simpatico’s Gift“, with local author and veterinarian, Frank Martorana!  “Simpatico’s Gift” is Martorana’s second installment in the Kent Stephenson Thriller Series. Book #1, “Taking on Lucinda”, was released in 2018!  Martorana is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. He established the Hamilton Animal Hospital in 1993 and has operated it since that time. Over the years, he has been the “family doctor” for countless horses, cows, dogs, cats, and many other creatures in and around Madison County. His experiences with clients and animals, some humorous and others heart-rending, provide the backdrop for his novels.

Friday November 8 at 6:30pm, we will be having our last historic talk until spring!  We will host a special presentation by Jim Coulthart entitled “Canadian Mustangs over Canastota & CNY.” Coulthart will tell the story of World War II fighter planes that were purchased from Canada and flown to Syracuse and Canastota. The international story weaves together a Canadian Prime Minister, two enterprising CNY businessmen, 70+ high performance piston fighter aircraft, mercenary pilots and two local airfields.

Friday November 15 is our Nerf Battle Night at 8:30pm.  Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts too–please label them) and join us for open play around the library!  See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from being hit by a friend’s foam dart!  Open to ages 7 and up; so adults are welcome too!  Everyone must bring a snack and beverages will be provided.  We only have 14 spaces so sign up starting November 1!
