This Friday September 20 join us for Nerf Battle Night from 8:30pm-11:00pm.  Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts too–please label them) and join us for open play around the library!  See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from being hit by a friend’s foam dart!  Open to ages 7 and up; so adults are welcome too!  Bring your own snacks and beverages.  We only have 14 spaces so sign up now!

Wednesday September 25 is our “Madison County Rethink Waste” program at 6:30pm.  Come and learn how you can “Rethink Waste in Madison County!” Kristin Welch, the Recycling Coordinator at the Department of Solid Waste, will be updating residents on the new program changes along with what should, and should not, go in the recycling bin. While you are there, you can pick up recycling resources to help you rethink waste at home.

Our annual Red Cross Blood Drive is Friday September 27 from 2:00pm-7:00pm.  Help the community by giving blood today!  See the link below and schedule your appointment today or call the library and talk to the Library Manager!  https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=morrisvillelib 

Saturday September 28 is our Fall Book Sale from10:00am-4:00pm!  Stop in and grab some good books for the fall weather ahead!  Stock up for winter too!  Can’t beat the prices!  We will have adult and kids books, DVD’s, books on tape or CD, music CD’s and more!

The Library Board of Trustees are collecting items for the Annual Silent Auction starting October 1 until Saturday November 2.  Donations can be such things as handcrafted items, artwork, gift certificates, donations from businesses, etc., with a minimum value of $5.00.  They will not be accepting USED items.  New or handmade is acceptable. The bidding begins on November 4!  Please help us by donating and/or bidding on items!

Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour returns on Tuesday October 1 at 10:00am!  Help us have fun with “Popcorn!”  Stories, finger plays a craft and more! Can’t make it that day?  Join us the following week (October 8) for “I’m Grumpy!”  Be sure to stop in and get a complete schedule today!

On Wednesday October 2, we will be hosting a program, Understanding Your Credit Score at 6:30pm!  What is your credit score and why does it matter?  How can you find out your score and how it is calculated?  Join us as Heidi Ouderkirk from KeyBank answers these questions and more!  Refreshments provided!

Friday October 4 will be our Halloween Cards & Treats night at 6:30pm!  Come make 3 Halloween cards and/or sweet treat holders too!  Cost is $5 per set of three activities (payable the night of the program).  Jackie Groves of Librarystampers Creations will demonstrate how to use stamps and other tools to create these unique items!  This is open to ages 12 and up (but if someone younger wants to participate; a parent/guardian must come too!)  We must have five people signed up to have this event, so please sign up now at the circulation desk!

We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

This Friday September 6 we will be having another Family Movie Night at 7:00pm! Mark your calendars because on Friday September 13 John Taibi is back with his Eaton Hill & the Pecksport Loop Historic Talk at 6:30pm!  In this presentation we will travel from Morrisville (Station) to Eaton where lies the summit of the grade from Oneida. Then, we’ll return to Randallsville on the main line, hop on the Utica Division through Hamilton to Pecksport where we’ll gain the Pecksport Loop to return to the mainline at Whites Corners. From Whites Corners, we’ll use the mainline to get back to Morrisville.

On Wednesday September 18 our fall/winter Book Talk series begins at 6:30pm!  We will be reading, Woman in the Window by AJ Finn.  Copies can be picked up now!  Discussion open to teens and adults!  So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!
