On Wednesday August 28 we will be hosting Back to School Cards & Treats at 6:30pm!  Come make 3 school-related cards and/or sweet treat holders too!  Cost is $5 per set of 3 activities (payable the night of the program).  Jackie Groves of Librarystampers Creations will demonstrate how to use stamps and other tools to create these unique items!  This is open to ages 12 and up (but if someone younger wants to participate; a parent/guardian must come too!)  We must have 5 people signed up to have this event, so please sign up now at the circulation desk!

On Friday September 6 we will be having another Family Movie Night at 7:00pm! Mark your calendars because on Friday September 13 John Taibi is back with his Eaton Hill & the Pecksport Loop Historic Talk at 6:30pm!  In this presentation we will travel from Morrisville (Station) to Eaton where lies the summit of the grade from Oneida. Then, we’ll return to Randallsville on the main line, hop on the Utica Division through Hamilton to Pecksport where we’ll gain the Pecksport Loop to return to the mainline at Whites Corners. From Whites Corners, we’ll use the mainline to get back to Morrisville.

We will be closed on Monday September 2 to observe Labor Day and we will be closed until 1pm on Saturday September 14 for staff development training.

We are running our summer hours so we will be closed Saturdays through Labor Day.  We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday closed.

Summer Reading, “Universe of Stories” is almost over so keep reading and recording those minutes!  Make sure you turn in your reading records (kids) and book reviews (adults) by this Friday August 9 at 8:00pm!

This Friday August 9 please join us for “Under the Stars/Magic in the Sky” at 6:30pm!  Come join us as we have fun with stars and the magic that is in our sky!  Games, a craft and more!

Summer Reading Ends on Friday August 9 at 8pm. If you read at last ten hours (kids), then please join us for our Summer Reading Graduation on Wednesday August 14 at 6:30pm!  Awards, prizes and ice cream sundaes!  If you are unsure if you made it, then check with the library manager prior to the event.  Will the kids have read enough to COLOR the Library Manager?  We shall see!

Don’t forget that on Friday August 16 we are having our Library Lock-In at 8:00pm (until 8am Saturday morning)!  Families/ people can come stay the night at the library and play video and board games, work on a puzzle, create crafts, use the computers, watch movies, eat food, and lots LOTS more! (Some reminders: no one under 6–too long of a time for littles-no exceptions, and you cannot come for a few hours-you have to stay the entire time.) Anyone 12 and up can come by themselves AS LONG AS your parent has completed a permission slip (available August 1 at the circulation desk!)  All who attend must bring a sleeping bag and pillow (as we do make everyone head to sleep if they are still awake at 4am!)  If you want to help plan, donate items etc. please contact the Library Manager!

On Monday August 19, we will be having our Out of this World Tie Dye night at 6:30pm!  Please bring a 100% pre-washed cotton item or items (i.e.-t-shirt, handkerchief etc.). Please dress to get messy as well!  (We will not provide cotton items; people must bring their own.)  Open to all ages; young and old!!

Wednesday August 21 will be Coding Cars with 4-H at 6:30pm!  Join 4-H Resource Educator, Craig Brown, as he helps us to code a video game using Scratch!  Make sure your parents come at 8pm as we plan to showcase all the games you created!  This program is open to ages 8-14 only and we have limited spaces available!  So please make sure you sign up starting August 1 at the circulation desk!

Excess Crops Swap at the library!!  Drop off any extra produce you grew/purchased etc. that you don’t think you will finish before it goes bad.  Look and see what is already there and if you like something, take it!  The basket is in the entry so come check it out (drop off stuff) today!
