Summer Reading, “Libraries Rock!” is over!  Congrats to our 49 out of 95 graduates who read a total of 1222 hours!  So YES they did get to SLIME the Library Manager!!!  Congratulations kids!  Graduates are:  Layla Abbott, Emerson, Esther and Wyatt Armstrong, Eric and Kaylee Berry, Declan, Jeslyn and Tayden Church, Esther, Hannah and Levi Claxton, Gwen, Priscilla and Robert Davis, Madyson Decock, Hayden Dye, Damien Gaiser, Holly and Jack Galanis, Maci Guilmette, Michael Halladay, Aiden Hawver, Lucas Heid, Wayne Hopkins, Abigail and Cassidy Huffine, Abigail Leamer, Alexia Lollman, Kevin and Rebecca Marcellus, Arianna Markowski, Gabrielle Mazza, Lucas Packard, Lily Peck, Travis Rounds, Mulann Sangay-Dolkar, Abigail Seaton, Alex and Sara Staelens, Marlee and Paislee Stevens, Chelsea, Micheal and Taylor Taiwo, Peyton and Sophia Wilcox, Tashi Woezer and Patrick Younglove.

Be sure to join us for our new program, BLOX, Lego Club on Wednesday September 5 from 4:00pm-6:00pm!  Come join the fun!  We provide the Lego’s; please come and show us your expertise!  Topics change every time we meet but building and fun is what it’s all about!  All ages are welcome (young and old) and you do not need to attend every time!  Come when you can!  Please bring a healthy snack if you can!  (This club meets every month!)

Friday September 7 starts our Fall History Series with Morrisville Businesses Then & Now, Historic Talk at 6:30pm!  Join Village and Town Historian, Sue Greenhagen, as she shares with us what our Morrisville businesses (store fronts) looked like then and what is there now! 

Every month we will host an Adulting class for patrons ages 15-25 (though all ages over 15 are welcome!)  Wednesday September 12 is our first one, Basics of Sewing Part 1 at 6:30pm.  Don’t know how to sew?  Need to remember how?  This is for you!  Learn the basics of sewing and leave with your own potholder created by YOU!  If you have a sewing machine or can borrow one, please bring it!   ALL participants need to bring ½ yard of material as well!  All materials will be provided.   We will have another sewing class in the future so stay tuned for more details!  

Don’t forget we host “Play Mahjong!’ every Monday from 1pm-3pm!  Like to play Mahjong?  Want to learn how to play without using the computer?  Willing to teach young and old!  Come join the fun!

We are running our summer hours.  That means we will be closed Saturdays through Labor Day.  We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday closed.

Summer Reading, “Libraries Rock!” is almost over so keep reading and recording those minutes!  Make sure you turn in your reading records (kids) and book reviews (adults) by this Friday August 10 at 8:00pm!

This Friday August 10 we will “Rock Around the World” at 6:30pm!  Come join us as we have fun with music from around the world!  It will be a rockin’ good time!  Games, a craft and more!

On Monday August 13 join us for Rockin’ Mini Golf at 6:30pm!  Thanks to a grant from the Central NY Regional Council we have been able to bring your elementary school librarian from MECS here this summer!  Join Miss Wise and using Ozobots and Spheros, kids will code robots through a series of mini golf course challenges. (Open to anyone not just MECS students!)

Summer Reading Ends on Friday August 10 at 8pm. If you read at last ten hours (kids) then please join us for our Summer Reading Graduation on Wednesday August 15 at 6:30pm!  Awards, prizes and ice cream sundaes!  If you are unsure if you made it, then check with the library manager prior to the event.  Will the kids have read enough to whip cream the Library Manager?  We shall see!

Be sure to join us on Friday August 17 for our Family Movie Night at 7:00pm!  We will be showing the very popular in theaters movie, Ready Player One! Popcorn as always will be provided; you bring your own beverage!  Please note it is PG-13 so we will not allow anyone under 13 to view the movie without a parent or guardian. 

Monday August 20 be sure to join us for Rock out with STEM at 6:30pm!  Thanks to a grant from the Central NY Regional Council we have been able to bring your elementary school librarian from MECS here this summer!  Join Miss Wise and using Makey Makey and other library tools, kids will create their own musical instrument!  (Open to anyone not just MECS students!)
