September 2019 Events

Monday September 2– LIBRARY CLOSED 
Library Closed to observe Labor Day.  We will reopen Tuesday September 3 at 10am.

Friday September 6- Movie Night- 7:00pm
We will be showing Secret Life of Pets 2 (rated PG)! Popcorn as always will be provided; you bring your own beverage! 

Monday September 9- Play Mahjong!- 1:00pm-3:00pm
Like to play Mahjong?  Want to learn how to play without using the computer?  Willing to teach young and old!  Join the fun every Monday afternoon at the library!

Friday, September 13 Eaton Hill & the Pecksport Loop Historic Talk- 6:30pm
John Taibi will return to present about railroads yet again!   In this presentation we will travel from Morrisville (Station) to Eaton where lies the summit of the grade from Oneida. Then, we’ll return to Randallsville on the main line, hop on the Utica Division through Hamilton to Pecksport where we’ll gain the Pecksport Loop to return to the mainline at Whites Corners. From Whites Corners, we’ll use the mainline to get back to Morrisville.

Saturday September 14– LIBRARY CLOSED from 10am-1pm for staff training.

Monday September 16- Play Mahjong!- 1:00pm-3:00pm
Like to play Mahjong?  Want to learn how to play without using the computer?  Willing to teach young and old!  Join the fun every Monday afternoon at the library!

Wednesday September 18– Book Talk-Woman in the Window- 6:30pm
Looking for a good book to read?  How about joining our book talk as we will be reading, Woman in the Window by AJ Finn.  Copies can be picked up on August 21 or after!  Discussion open to teens and adults!  So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!

Thursday, September 19- Library Board Meeting- 6:30pm
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Friday September 20– Nerf Battle Night- 8:30pm-11:00pm
Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts too–please label them) and join us for open play around the library!  See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from getting hit by a friend’s foam dart!  Open to ages 7 and up; so adults are welcome too!  Bring your own snacks and beverages.  We only have 14 spaces so sign up starting September 1!

Not registered to vote? Stop in during this time and we can help you!

Wednesday September 25- Madison County Rethink Waste- 6:30pm
Come and learn how you can “Rethink Waste in Madison County!” Kristin Welch, the Recycling Coordinator at the Department of Solid Waste, will be updating residents on the new program changes along with what should, and should not, go in the recycling bin. While you’re there, you can pick up recycling resources to help you rethink waste at home.

Saturday September 28- Fall Book Sale- 10:00am-4:00pm
Stop in and grab some good books for the fall weather ahead!  Stock up for winter too!  Can’t beat the prices!  We will have adult and kids books, DVD’s, books on tape or CD, music CD’s and more!
